I drew these sketches while working out that and how I was going to build a six-legged turtle in Blender to print on a Maker-Bot.  They’re in a previous journal experiment: the hand-made pocket journal, which measures 8 x 9 x .7cm closed.  The drawings are in pen and colored with watercolour pencil.  These were developed February 21 ’12  and the mesh (digital 3d model) was made later that day.

The in the first two pages I figured out the proportions and anatomy, in the lower, I worked out more technical ideas with the mesh – how I was going to make it one skin, the shell connected to legs, as well as how I wanted to simply construct the shell from polygons.
